Vijayawada: Endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas slammed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting Vijayawada city during his term and said he doesn't have any moral right to campaign in the city.

The minister said Mr. Naidu couldn't complete the construction of the Kanaka Durga flyover during his regime and did not even release funds for the development of Vijayawada while Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy's government has completed the flyover's construction and also sanctioned Rs. 600 crore for city development works. He asserted that the YSRCP will win all the 64 wards of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.

Mr. Srinivas said the people of Vijayawada are tired of Naidu's lies and demanded the TDP supremo seek apologies from the people of the city for neglecting them earlier.

The minister said TDP leaders themselves admit that only people from Naidu's caste are benefitting in the party. He demanded that Mr. Naidu respond to the comments of TDP leaders Bonda Uma Maheswar Rao, Buddha Venkanna, and Nagul Meera on the domination of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani in Vijayawada. He said Mr. Naidu is trying to put TDP on track but in vain.

Reminding that it was Mr. Naidu who issued a government order to hike water tax by 100 per cent, he said people don't believe TDP's false propaganda on municipal taxes ahead of the civic polls. The new tax policy will not burden the people of the state, he assured people.
