Deputy CM Pawan orders road after Nellore village schoolchildren’s appeal goes viral
Nellore: A heartfelt social media appeal by schoolchildren from Gajjalavaripalli village in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district has led to the immediate sanction of a long-pending village road, following the swift intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
The students, struggling daily to reach school through a muddy and unsafe stretch, posted a video online urging the Deputy Chief Minister to help them get a proper road. Their plea struck a chord and triggered prompt administrative action.
Deputy CM responds without delay
After watching the video, Pawan Kalyan immediately sought details from officials and held discussions with the District Collector. He directed the authorities to prepare estimates and accord immediate approval for the road work.
Following his instructions, administrative sanction has been granted for the construction of a 1.6-kilometre road at an estimated cost of Rs 86 lakh to Gajjalavaripalli village in Kondapuram mandal.
Long-standing hardship for students and villagers
For years, the lack of a motorable road had forced schoolchildren to wade through slush during the monsoon, raising serious safety concerns. Villagers said farmers also faced difficulties transporting produce to and from their agricultural fields.
Once completed, the new road is expected to significantly ease daily travel for students and provide much-needed connectivity for the agrarian community.
