Videshi Vidya Deevena: 100% fee remittance for AP students getting into global universities
A committee headed by Chief Secretary will finalize the candidates
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 July 2022 5:02 AM GMTAmaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has revised the guidelines for Videshi Vidya Deevena to help poor students pursue higher education abroad. According to the new guidelines, financial assistance shall be sanctioned to eligible students who get admissions to any of the top 200 universities as per the latest QS world university rankings.
Those securing admission in the top 100 Institutions/Universities shall be eligible for financial assistance of 100% of the tuition fee and for those who get admissions into the universities ranked from 101 to 200, will get 50 percent of the tuition fees or Rs 50 lakh whichever is less. The scholarship shall be payable in four installments for PG courses. In the case of Ph.D/MBBS courses, further installments will be released, based on the production of their preceding year/semester results.
The family income shall not exceed Rs.8 lakh per annum and the student should be a resident of the state and the age shall not exceed 35 years. Only one person per family is eligible for the scheme and the notification will be given between September-December and January-May. A committee headed by Chief Secretary will finalize the candidates.
