Vijayawada: Body of APFSL ex-JD found in hotel; police register suspicious death case

Amaravati: A retired joint director of the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) was found dead in a hotel room at Vijayawada
Ekkaraju Siva Kumar, a resident of Hyderabad, visited Vijayawada to submit evidence in court. He was presently working in a private laboratory.
According to the police, when the hotel management knocked on the door, Siva Kumar did not respond. They immediately informed the police who broke the door. Police found his lifeless body with alcohol bottles, cigarettes, and tablets on the floor. He also allegedly had an injury on the forehead.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Siva Kumar died due to cardiac arrest. However, police have registered under Section 174 CrPc ( suspicious death), and sent the body for post-mortem.
