Vizag: Ahead of starting new delivery centre, Cognizant conducts employee relocation survey

Visakhapatnam: Cognizant is gathering employee feedback on relocating to a new centre in Vizag. The move comes ahead of the opening of the center in Visakhapatnam.

“As we continue to expand Cognizant's Delivery Centers in Tier cities, we are planning the next steps for our newest delivery center in Visakhapatnam. To aid in this process, we seek to understand your willingness to relocate and work from the Visakhapatnam delivery center. Please complete this survey by November 21, 2025, to let us know your interest. Your prompt response will be essential for planning purposes, and final decisions will be based on business requirements. This initiative aligns with the terms and conditions of your employment contract," reads an email reportedly sent to the employees.

According to the data, thousands of employees from Andhra Pradesh are currently working at Cognizant. This initiative will provide them with an opportunity to relocate to Visakhapatnam, bringing them closer to their hometowns.

It may be noted that Cognizant Technology Solutions is set to invest Rs 1,582.98 crore to establish a cutting-edge IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) campus in Visakhapatnam.

The project is projected to generate 8,000 jobs, offering a significant boost to employment and the local economy.

The proposed campus will come up on 21.31 acres of land in Kapuluppada, under the jurisdiction of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA). In a move aimed at attracting investment, the Andhra Pradesh government will allot the land at a highly concessional rate of just 99 paisa per acre.

This initiative is widely viewed as a strategic win for Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh, who has been actively promoting the state as a prime destination for tech investment.
