Andhra Pradesh govt approves land parcels for Google data center, other tech companies

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has approved the transfer of land for the Google data center campus in Visakhapatnam.

The government has also agreed to extend incentives for the proposed 1,000 MW AI data center to be developed by Google subsidiary Raiden Infotech India Private Limited and its notified partners.

According to orders issued by the government, land identified by the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will be handed over to Raiden and its partners for the project.

The company has committed an investment of USD 15 billion to build a state-of-the-art data center meeting global standards. Raiden has assured that the project will be executed with high-quality infrastructure and within the specified timeline, with continuous monitoring of progress.

However, the government has cautioned that action will be taken if the company fails to provide valid reasons for any delay in project completion.

Land parcels allocated

APIIC has earmarked the following lands for the development of multiple data center campuses:

120 acres in Adivivaram and Mudasarlova villages, Visakhapatnam district

200 acres in Tarluvada village, Anandapuram mandal, Visakhapatnam district

160 acres in Rambilli, Anakapalle district

Raiden has sought the transfer of these lands through APIIC to its primary notified partner, Adani Infra (India) Private Limited, with future internal transfers to other entities as per project needs.

Planned site allocations

Rambilli: To be developed into a data center campus by Nxtra Data or its affiliates

Tarluvada, Adivivaram & Mudasarlova: Proposed to be transferred to Adani Connects or its affiliates for campus development

Notified project partners :

Adani Infra (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Adani Connects India Pvt. Ltd.

Adani Power India Pvt. Ltd.

Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Nxtra Data Ltd. (a subsidiary of Airtel)

Nxtra Vizag Ltd. (a subsidiary of Airtel)

The government specified that incentives will be available only after prior approval of partnerships and upon fulfillment of required investments.

Project guidelines

The development will follow the Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted on August 22, 2025, with Raiden confirming that Google and its subsidiaries— including Google Cloud—will remain actively involved.

The infrastructure will adhere to the same stringent operational standards as Google’s core services, such as Search, YouTube, and Workspace. In the event of any partnership exiting the project, Raiden is required to notify the government and propose alternate arrangements to ensure continuity.
