Vizianagaram cops solve 2016 mystery, reveal that man missing for 5 yrs was murdered

Vizianagaram: The local police have solved a five-year-old missing case and found that a man who went missing in 2016 in Viziangaram was murdered. This breakthrough came after they found a two-wheeler that had disappeared along with the man.

The deputy superintendent of Vizianagaram police, Anil Pulipati, told reporters that Two Town sub-inspector Sagarbabu was conducting a routine check of vehicles when he found a scooter being driven by a mechanic, Gandiboina Ramakrishna. He did not have the necessary papers and the vehicle had a fake number.

On being questioned, he told the SI that he had purchased the scooter from Konisi Rajasekhar for Rs. 10,000. Further probe revealed that the missing man's son in his report had mentioned the vehicle in his complaint.

"The police picked up Rajasekhar and after questioning he admitted to killing the missing man Ketavaram Satyanarayana who has not been seen since 16 November 2016 along with his Honda Activa scooter,'' the DSP said.

He said Rajasekhar took a loan of Rs. 70,000 from the victim and when he insisted on repayment, he decided to get rid of him. Rajasekhar with the help of his three friends lured Satyanarayana to a cremation ground where they forced him to take a soft drink laced with sedatives. When he fell unconscious, they smashed his head with iron rods and set him ablaze.

The police arrested the four men and recovered gold ornaments which they stole from the victim after killing him.
