'Whatever post I get, I will work': Somesh Kumar meets Jagan in Amaravati
Mr. Kumar is awaiting the orders of the Andhra Pradesh government.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Jan 2023 9:49 AM GMTAmaravati: Former Telangana chief secretary and senior IAS officer Somesh Kumar met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and chief secretary K.S Jawahar Reddy in Amaravati on Thursday morning.
Somesh Kumar was relieved from the Telangana cadre and was directed to report to Andhra Pradesh as per the directions given by DoPT. Mr. Kumar is awaiting the orders of the Andhra Pradesh government.
On arrival at Vijayawada airport, he said, "I have complied with the orders of the Government of India to report to Andhra Pradesh. As an officer, I am ready to take any responsibility that the government entrusts. No post is big or small. Whatever post I get, I will work."
When asked if he will be working as an advisor to the Telangana government, Mr. Kumar said, "No decision was taken. Let us see."
Chances to opt for VRS?
According to sources from AP CM office, Somesh Kumar has reported to AP as he has doesn't want any action from DoPT. With his is due to retire on December, 31, 2023, he is likely to submit his VRS application to the state government.
Chances are high that he will opt VRS. After that there is speculation that he will be with Telangana Chief Minister KCR. He might help KCR as Advisor to TS govt, or may join BRS party, is the speculation in political circles.
