Amaravati: A day after actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan unveiled his election campaign vehicle 'Varahi,' he has landed in trouble after objections were raised about the color of the vehicle which is olive green. Andhra Pradesh additional transport commissioner Prasad Rao said the Jana Sena Party president is not supposed to use an olive green vehicle.

Pawan Kalyan unveiled his campaign vehicle 'Varahi' which looks like an Army vehicle. According to the Motor Vehicle Act, olive green should not be used for any private vehicle except for Army personnel.

Mr. Rao said they will check the chassis number to verify if the permit was for a goods or passenger vehicle. "If the vehicle is registered as a passenger vehicle, modifications cannot be done. The manufacturer will have approval based on a specific build. If those specifications are altered, we will have to check if he has got permission for it." the additional transport commissioner said.

Meanwhile, raising objections, YSRCP leader Perni Nani asked Pawan Kalyan to come out of the cinematic atmosphere and behave like a genuine citizen with more responsibility. "I am requesting Pawan Kalyan to come out of the cinema world. According to the Motor Vehicle Act, none other than the Army can use olive green. All the time, you claim to be a law-abiding citizen, but are they just statements?" he questioned.

Reacting to Perni Nani's comments, Pawan Kalyan, in a tweet, posted an olive green shirt and wrote, "Am I allowed to wear this shirt 'YCP'? At least...??"
