Hyderabad: On the occasion of International Women's Day, Andhra Pradesh director-general of police K.V Rajendranath Reddy inaugurated a medical camp exclusively for women at the DGP's office in Mangalagiri. He also presented awards to officers from the DSP level to the constable level for their outstanding performance in 18 units across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said in a short span of time the Disha mobile app had seen 1,13,84,512 downloads. The SOS app was introduced to provide security and confidence to the women of the state, he said.
"We are using this system to deliver quick and best services to the victims in the shortest possible time through the live-tracking of police vehicles through GIS-based GPS tracking system," Mr. Rajendranath said adding that the uniqueness of this system is that it detects the complainant's area and the nearest patrol vehicle reaches them in the shortest time.
He pointed out that in 2021, the Andhra Pradesh police were the first in the country to file a charge sheet in an average of 92.21% of cases.
Meanwhile, prizes were also awarded to women officers who had excelled in the investigation of cases.
