Newly engaged man among three killed after car plunges into water tank in East Godavari

Though the incident took place on Thursday night, it came to light on Friday morning only after the local noticed the car in the tank and dead bodies in the car.

Newly engaged man among three killed after car plunges into water tank in East Godavari

East Godavari: Three members of a family including their newly engaged son were killed when their car crashed into a culvert and plunged into a water tank near Kotipalli Kota village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Though the incident took place on Thursday night, it came to light on Friday morning when locals noticed bodies in the car.

The deceased have been identified as K Seetharama Satya Prasad, his wife K Vijaya Lakshmi and their younger son K Satya Santhosh.

Police said the deceased were the residents of Yanam of Puducherry. On Thursday, they went to Rajahmundry of East Godavari district to get their son Satya Santhosh engaged. Satya Santhosh was working as Bank Manager.

After the engagement ceremony, the trio purchased a new car at Rajahmundry. When they were returning home, they met with an accident. All three persons on board were killed.

Based on the information, police visited the spot and retrieved the bodies. Police said the trio died of drowning. A case has been registered and the investigation is on.
