YSRCP spent 3 times more on Aarogyasri than previous govt: Jagan

By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Sep 2022 12:15 PM GMTAmaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government's expenditure on Aarogyasri went up three-fold as compared to the previous government, said Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday, adding about Rs. 2,500 crores were spent on YSR Aarogyasri with an increased number of procedures.
During a review meeting of the medical and health department held here on Friday, Jagan said Rs. 300 crores were spent on Aarogya Asara and Rs. 400 crores on the 108 and 104 services. He also said that 432 new 104 vehicles will be pressed into service by December.
According to the health department, new procedures under Aarogyasri will begin from 15 October, taking the number of procedures from 2,446 to 3,254. By December, 432 new 104 ambulances will be added taking the total to 1,108. Also, 12 types of diagnostic kits and 67 types of medicines are being made available in village clinics.
Jagan said hospitals should do a monthly audit on staff count and the report should reach the officials without fail. Vacancies should be filled immediately, he said and asked officials to consider setting up a medical recruitment board. He also instructed them to complete the construction of new medical colleges and work on urban health clinics by November.
