Vijayawada: The ruling YSRCP has claimed to have won 2,649 out of 3325 seats in the second phase of Gram Panchayat (GP) polls in Andhra Pradesh.

Government Advisor for Political Affairs Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said YSRCP has won 2,649 seats, while TDP has settled for 538. BJP has won five while JSP bagged 35 seats. Others have won 98 seats in the second phase, he said.

"TDP has been resorting to old tricks with the support of friendly media. It is distorting the facts and manipulating results to show that it is still relevant in the polity, though the reality is otherwise," he said.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said they have proved the authenticity of first phase figures by posting the photos of the winning candidates.

"Yet, TDP false claims continue even in the second phase stating that they have won 39 percent seats with no substantial evidence or proof. We will be uploading the names and photos of our supporters who won in the second phase in a couple of days," he said.

He said TDP has brought out a fake website with common keywords and has been posting its own version of the results with no authentication. "We have complained about the issue and action will be taken," he said.

He said Chandrababu Naidu has been resorting to lies in desperation. "They said YSRCP supporter in Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani's home town has lost. In reality, the Minister hails from Gudivada. In Paritala, Sunita and many others have won with good margins, but we do not want to go into the micro details," he said.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said on one hand Chandrababu has been saying that elections are being held undemocratically and on the other, he has been claiming 39 percent victory for his party supporters.

"There were no candidates for the Opposition and many were pushed into the contest though unwillingly. Only some of his diehard followers, who were addicted to his type of corrupt practices, are still clinging to false hopes," he said.

He said local conditions may play a vital role in the results, but their estimate of winning 80 percent of seats is supported by evidence.

"Media should play a prominent role in judging the numbers being given out. We are coming out with hard facts and are even posting the pictures of the winners, while TDP has been just propagating falsehood and manipulating the figures," he said.

He said YSRCP under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy won over 52 percent votes in 2019 elections and the welfare schemes has swelled the mandate.

"Chief Minister has never spoken in the course of the election, while TDP president has been coming out with blatant lies after the results were announced in the two phases," he said.

He said the ruling party will win all the phases in the same manner. "Elections to other local bodies will be no different," he said.
