Hyderabad: City police have seized 14.2 kg of pseudoephedrine drugs which were being smuggled to Australia.
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that the value of the seized drugs was estimated to be Rs.5.5 crore in the International market, while it will be Rs 40 lakh in the Indian market.
He said after receiving a report from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the Begumpet police, inspected the International Courier agency where the drugs were concealed in 22 photo frames. These were to be sent to Australia.
The culprits used fake Aadhaar cards to smuggle drugs, he said.
Two persons from Tamil Nadu were suspected to be involved in the racket.
In another case, three peddlers were arrested and 110 pills were recovered from them in the Asifnagar area of the city.
