SCR lowers platform ticket prices in all stations of Secunderabad division

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Monday announced that platform ticket fare has been reduced across all stations of the Secunderabad division. SCR had temporarily increased the rates of platform tickets as a precautionary measure against COVID- 19.

It further said that platform tickets will now be issued at all stations of the division. This decision was taken in view of the resumption of unreserved Express trains over the rail network.

Now, the platform tickets at all railway stations (both non-suburban and suburban stations) of the Secunderabad division will cost Rs. 10 except for Secunderabad and Hyderabad stations where it will be Rs. 20.

SCR added that the issue of platform tickets will help all rail passengers, especially senior citizens, and Divyangjan, in smooth boarding and alighting from the trains. Meanwhile, precautionary measures in place at railway stations to tackle coronavirus will continue as usual. Rail users are requested to cooperate in this endeavor and follow all protocols laid down in containing COVID- 19, SCR said.

Eight Sunday MMTS services cancelled

SCR has temporarily cancelled eight MMTS services on Sundays due to poor occupancy with effect from 25 July. After resuming MMTS services in the city with only 10 trains on 23 June, SCR had started 45 additional trains from 1 July.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in view of the need to curtail the spread of the virus, MMTS services in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad was suspended from 23 March 2020. However, in line with the gradual resumption of train services, the MMTS train services had resumed on 23 June with only 10 trains.
