Hyderabad: Thirty students of Government Primary School in Gollapally village under Yellareddypet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla fell sick on Friday. They were admitted to a hospital in Sircilla.

The students developed symptoms like vomiting, nausea, and pain in the abdomen.

Soman Mohan Rao, district medical health officer (DMHO), Rajanna Sircilla said all the students recovered and were discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning. "Out of the 30 students, 10 were severely affected and 20 others were in a state of panic but were asymptomatic. All 30 were discharged this morning," said the Sircilla DMHO.

He also said that the cause of the infection is yet to be traced. However, it is suspected that the water that was used for cooking may have been contaminated, infecting the students. "The water samples have been sent for testing and results are awaited," the DMHO added.
