Hyderabad: Four more cases of Omicron has been reported in Telangana on December 16. Three cases are from Kenya, a 'non-risk' country and one is of Indian origin who has arrived from an 'at-risk' country. The total tally of Omicron cases in the state stands at seven.
"We got 4 imported Omicron positive cases today[Thursday], out of which three are from Kenya and one is from Indian origin. The investigation is on," said G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health, Telangana.
On Wednesday, Telangana had reported three cases of Omicron in the state. A 24-year-old Kenyan woman and a 23-year-old Somalian man had tested positive for the Omicron variant. These were the first two cases of Omicron in Telangana. Both were from "non-risk" countries.
The third case is of a 7-year-old kid who came to Hyderabad and immediately took a domestic flight from Hyderabad to West Bengal. He didn't cross the RGIA premises. He immediately boarded a domestic flight after landing in Hyderabad. West Bengal Government has been informed.
