7 more Omicron cases in TS; total tally reaches 62

Hyderabad: Seven more cases of Omicron were reported in Telangana on Tuesday. With this, the total Omicron cases in the state have increased to 62.

Out of the seven new cases, three are from 'at-risk' countries and four are non-risk countries.


Meanwhile, a total of 165 passengers arriving from 'at-risk' countries were screened for Omicron variant today at RGIA, Hyderabad. Out of the 165 screened, four have turned Covid-19 positive. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing.

Results of 13 samples are awaited as of today.

Out of the total 62 Omicron cases reported in the state as of today, 6 are from 'at-risk' countries, 39 from non-risk countries, 4 are locally transmitted cases, and 13 have recovered from the infection.

Since December 1, a total of 11,921 passengers arriving from 'at-risk' countries have been screened at RGIA.
