Hyderabad: Telangana has the best surveillance system in the country with more than nine lakh CCTV cameras (7 lakh in Hyderabad alone) installed in the state. We use the latest technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI), virtual reality, and data analytics and have solved sensational cases within 24 hours, said Mahendar Reddy, Telangana DGP, at an interactive meet between the police department and FTCCI industry members.

The meet, was organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI).

Giving the keynote address as the chief guest of the evening, Mahendar Reddy, said, "Hyderabad has to be safe and secure if Telangana has to be safe. We are proud to say that Telangana police are adopting the new and latest technology to be prepared for NexGen policing. We have a friendly proactive government that has law and order in the state as its priority. In fact, we still remember the day when Telangana was formed in 2014. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao called a meeting of the police department and guided us to ensure the safety of every citizen irrespective of their origin, caste, and creed. He said the state cannot prosper without proper enforcement of law and order."

K. Bhasker Reddy, the president of FTCCI, said the meeting with the police department was to show their gratitude for the important role the police play in the smooth running of businesses while ensuring employee safety. "This was more evident during the last two years of the pandemic where the police department extended full support in the smooth running of business operations without any hindrances. Also, this meeting is aimed to recognise the importance of a collaborative approach between the industry and law enforcement departments," he said.

While, C.V Anand, the Hyderabad police commissioner, said, "We at Telangana are the first in the country and in the world to establish Security Council for better networking and collaboration between industry, communities, and law enforcement departments. We need to cooperate and collaborate for a better society."
