Hyderabad: The new year started with a pleasant surprise for Charminar traffic police inspector K.S Ravi. On the eve of new year, the Hyderabad commissioner of police, C.V Anand, visited the Charminar traffic police office. Appreciating Ravi's efforts, he gave the inspector a piece of cake. Somebody took a photo of the moment. The photo took Ravi 25 years back and reminded him of a similar photo taken in 1998.
A collage of the 1998 and 2023 photos has now become viral in the police department.
Calling it a pleasant coincidence, Ravi said, "It is a gift for me. I was so happy about it and so posted the two photos on my Twitter page."
He recalled the day the first photo was taken in 1997. "In 1997, I was in 10th standard. I scored well in my 10th exams. As a mark of appreciation, in 1998, I was awarded a cash prize by C.V Anand sir, who was then the SP of Nizamabad," he said. He further said it was an event to felicitate meritorious children of police officers. Ravi's father was an Armed Reserve (AR) constable in Nizamabad.
While growing up, Ravi always dreamed of becoming a police officer, and he always felt proud about the efforts of the police department.
In 2009, Ravi was selected as a sub-inspector in the city police department. Presently, he heads the Charminar traffic police station.
