Hyderabad: In a significant step toward modernising and streamlining the property registration process, the Telangana State government will launch an Aadhaar-based e-signature (e-Sign) system starting June 2.
The initiative aims to reduce corruption, enhance transparency and save time for citizens, according to State minister for Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
The minister announced the decision during a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday with the IG of Stamps and Registration, Jyoti Buddha Prakash.
As part of the rollout strategy, the e-Sign system has already been implemented on a pilot basis at the sub-registrar offices in Armur (Nizamabad district) and Kusumanchi (Khammam district).
Registration process to take 15 minutes
Explaining the benefits of the new system, Minister Srinivasa Reddy noted that Aadhaar-based e-Sign will enable the registration process to be completed within 10 to 15 minutes. This initiative aligns with the governmentās broader plan to introduce a slot booking system from June 2, which will regulate public appointments and reduce wait times at SROs.
To ensure smooth implementation, the minister instructed officials to take all necessary technical precautions and address potential challenges in advance. Additionally, the government has appointed extra Sub-Registrars in high-volume offices including Patancheru, Yadagirigutta, Gandipet, Suryapet, Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy and Gadwal.
Minister Srinivasa Reddy stressed the need for sub-registrars to maintain high standards of integrity and efficiency in service delivery, ensuring that the department's performance strengthens the publicās trust and enhances the governmentās reputation.
