Abusing police officer: Ex-transport minister Mahender Reddy apologizes; cops book him in another case

"Police officers are like my family and I respect them very much. I spoke out of anger and I apologize," he said after his audio clip went viral.
Meanwhile, police have registered another case against Mahender Reddy under section 353, 506, and 504. The case was registered after SI Aravind from Yalal police station filed a complaint that the MLC had verbally abused him on April 26. Earlier, the Vikarabad Police booked Patnam Mahender Reddy for abusing Tandur Town Police Station CI Rajender Reddy.
An audio clip had gone viral in which the caller believed to be Mahender Reddy is heard abusing the police officer. The caller is questioning about 'rowdy sheeters' entering a temple. He is heard using filthy language and cuss words. Even after the CI requested the MLC not to speak harshly, the TRS leader continued to abuse him. When the officer tried to enquire whether he was speaking about those who accompany local MLA Rohit Reddy, the caller lashed out at the CI.
The caller even challenged him to record the call citing that it would not have any impact. The caller threatened to ruin the career of the police officer. The caller said the officer will continue to suffer even if he is transferred to another place. TRC MLC accused the CI of being involved in illegal businesses and threatens to get him arrested.
Later a case was filed under Section 353, 504, 506 of IPC, at Tandur town police station against TRS MLC Mahender Reddy.
On the other hand, MLA Rohith Reddy's followers have filed a complaint against Mahender Reddy, stating that he insulted them by addressing them as rowdy sheeters during the telephonic conversation with the CI. Mahender Reddy was the transport minister from 2014- 2018. He represented Tandur Constituency until 2018. Later Rohit Reddy was elected from that seat.
