Hyderabad: In a new twist to the Amnesia Pub gangrape case, Telangana High Court has ruled that one of the accused is a minor.

Earlier, Jubilee Hills police approached the court praying to declare all accused as majors.

Juvenile Court had earlier passed orders declaring the son of the Wakf Board Chairman as major. This prompted the boy’s father to approach Telangana High Court challenging the verdict.

A 17-year-old minor girl was gang-raped when she was returning home after attending a get-together at Amnesia Pub, located on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills. Six persons were identified as the alleged perpetrators of the heinous crime. The incident sent shockwaves across the nation.

The six accused allegedly befriended the girl outside the pub and offered to drop her home. They later took her to a place near Peddamma Temple and allegedly gang-raped her in the car.
