Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP president, Bandi Sanjay, has been booked for allegedly making insulting remarks about BRS MLC K. Kavitha during a live press meet. The action was taken after a complaint was lodged by Manne Kavitha, corporator of Venkateshwara Colony Division (BRS party), against Bandi Sanjay for making abusive and insulting remarks during a live press meet aired by TV channels.
The BJP leader has been booked under sections 354(A), 504, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code, Banjara Hills police station inspector Narender confirmed.
Manne Kavitha alleged that Mr. Sanjay’s remarks, were directed towards K. Kavitha, the president of Bharatha Jagruthi and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister. Manne Kavitha claimed that Kavitha had been falsely implicated in a case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and summoned to New Delhi for an inquiry.
She further stated that Mr. Sanjay’s remarks were not only offensive but also outraged the modesty of a woman and were made with the intention to provoke a breach of peace.
