Bangaru Bharat: TRS workers urge KCR to contest general elections

Hyderabad: Twenty-one district unit presidents of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) called for "Bangaru Bharat" during a joint press conference at the Telangana Bhavan. The district unit presidents urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to contest the general elections and rid Bharat of BJP.

"KCR has given 'Bangaru Telangana' and we are confident that he can give us 'Bangaru Bharat' too. People are fed up with the communal and divisive politics of the BJP Central government," said Mancherial district president and government whip Balka Suman.

Speaking in Hindi to reach a larger audience

The district presidents addressed the press conference in Telugu but also spoke in Hindi and English to reach a wider audience. Of late, MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla has also been speaking in Telugu and Hindi in her press conferences. There is a clear indication that the use of Hindi is to reach out to people in other states.

Free power for farmers

The promise of free power for farmers has got the Opposition parties untied, said the TRS party cadres. "We are happy that KCR is lending his full support to the farmers," said the party workers.

Upset with the Governor

Senior members of the party are upset with Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan's attack on the state government. MLC K. Kavitha, panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, tribal welfare minister Satyavathi Rathod, and others have voiced their displeasure against the remarks of the Governor. "It is not right on her part to behave like a BJP leader. She must keep the dignity of the post of Governor," said Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

With Central ministers frequenting the state and there being commotion between state and Central ministers, there are constant 'back-to-back' reactions between TRS and BJP in Telangana.
