Hyderabad: Telangana government has put a cap on the maximum speed limit for different vehicles in the GHMC area.
According to the notification, cars can go up to a maximum speed of 60 kmph on roads with dividers, whereas it has to reduce the speed to 50 kmph if driving on roads without dividers. In colony roads, the maximum speed allowed for cars is 30 kmph.
For goods vehicles, buses, three-wheelers, and motorcycles, the maximum speed limit has been fixed at 50 kmph on roads with dividers and 40 kmph on roads without dividers. In colony roads, the maximum speed permitted is 30 kmph.
These speed limits do not apply to vehicles on military service, read the notification.
On May 7, Transport Commissioner requested the government to notify the speed limits in all zones of GHMC based on the type of roads and type of vehicles as fixed by the Superintendent Engineers of Maintenance Wing, GHMC.
