Bought a vehicle? Temporary registration now online in Telangana via VAHAN; permanent RCs from April 11

Hyderabad: The Telangana Transport Department has operationalised the generation of non-transport temporary vehicle registrations through the VAHAN portal from March 23, aiming for a major push towards digital governance.
Permanent registrations from April 11
The department announced that the generation of permanent registration certificates (RCs) will commence from April 11, further expanding the scope of digital services under the VAHAN system.
VAHAN clocked over 33,000 temporary registrations since launch
Officials said the new system enables seamless online issuance of temporary registration certificates, reducing manual intervention and delays.
Since its launch, over 33,000 temporary registrations have already been generated through the VAHAN portal statewide.
1,000 automobile dealers trained
To support the rollout, nearly 1,000 automobile dealers have been trained through both physical and online sessions. The department has also completed 346 financial integrations and onboarded 671 authorised dealers, ensuring decentralised and efficient service delivery.
Authorities noted that the platform is being strengthened in a phased, module-wise manner to enhance efficiency, accuracy and reliability.
Down RCs and DLs via mParivahan app soon
Citizens will soon be able to download their Registration Certificates (RC) and Driving Licences (DL) through the NextGen mParivahan mobile application. Additional services and transactions will be introduced on the app in phases.
Officials stated that the VAHAN-based registration system marks a significant step in digital transformation, enhancing transparency, reducing processing time, and ensuring hassle-free services for citizens.
The Transport Department reiterated its commitment to technology-driven, transparent and citizen-centric service delivery.
