KCR said the Centre's budget has caused severe frustration to the SCs, STs, BCs, minorities, the farmers, the common man, the poor, and the working class. He said the budget was directionless and useless and added that the budget speech read out by the Union finance minister was full of ambiguity and juggling of words. It is a "golmal budget" that is frustrating and depressing the common man, he said.
The Chief Minister said the measures taken by the Center to support the agricultural sector were futile. This budget is a "big zero" for the country's agricultural and handloom sector, he said and added that it left employees and small traders in deep despair.
The Central budget has watered down the hopes of the working class and other taxpayers who were eagerly waiting for a change in Income Tax slabs, the CM said.
The budget has also made it clear that the Center has been negligent in developing public health and infrastructure. "It is unfortunate that the Center does not have the wherewithal to develop health infrastructure during the global corona crisis," KCR said.
He said the government has not taken steps to develop the country's medical sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CM expressed surprise that it was strange that the health of the people was not important to the Centre.
