On Tuesday, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the state was 5.2°Celsius in Adilabad. Hyderabad also woke up to low temperatures on Tuesday morning recording 10.8°Celsius minimum temperature.

Cold wave to sweep TS on 21 Dec; IMD issues orange alert

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad on Tuesday issued an orange alert warning and said cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some districts of Telangana on 21 December.

According to the IMD release, cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some pockets of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Medak districts of Telangana on 21 December.

On Tuesday, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the state was 5.2°Celsius in Adilabad. Medak and Ramagundam weather stations also recorded single-digit temperatures of 8.8°Celsius and 9.2°Celsius, respectively.

Hyderabad also woke up to low temperatures on Tuesday morning recording 10.8°Celsius minimum temperature. The maximum temperature in the city was 28°Celsius in the last 24 hours.

For Hyderabad city and neighboring areas, IMD has predicted a clear sky for the next 48 hours. But it has also warned of fog or mist during the morning.

For the next 24 hours, the minimum temperature in Hyderabad is expected to be 11°Celsius and maximum temperatures 27°Celsius. For the next 48 hours, Hyderabad will experience a minimum temperature of 13°Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28°Celsius.

Meanwhile, no rainfall was recorded in the state in the last 24 hours. From 21 to 25 December, dry weather is likely to prevail in the state, according to IMD. Minimum temperatures are expected to be 2-4°Celsius below normal in many pockets of Telangana.
