Concerned over attacks against lawyers, TS advocates protest in front of High Court

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court advocates on Tuesday afternoon staged a protest in front of gate no. 6 of the High Court against the assault on fellow advocates in two separate incidents in the state.

During the protest, Telangana High Court Bar Association president Verose Raghunath expressed deep concern against the attacks on advocates. He said in an incident that happened in Nizamabad, the additional collector of Nizamabad district abused and assaulted the president of the Nizamabad Bar Association who was executing a court warrant in the attachment of property.

Further, the additional collector abused the first additional district judge in the Nizamabad district court, lamented Mr. Raghunath.




Another incident happened in Warangal where two advocates were brutally beaten by the police and taken into custody without any reason.

Mr. Raghunath condemned the attack on advocates in the two incidents and requested the higher authorities to take stern action against the additional collector, Nizamabad and the police personnel concerned of Warangal district who are involved in the incident.



Moreover, Mr. Raghunath said the Bar Association is awaiting the appointment of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and will give a representation along with the victim's advocates.

The High Court Bar Association secretary, Jalli Narender, and advocates A. Padma Chary, A. Jagan, Sharada Goud, V. Rama Rao, R. Venkatesh Goud, Sharath Babu, and others participated in the protest.
