COVID-19: Telangana reports 2,319  new cases, GHMC adds 1,275

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 2,319 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the cumulative caseload to 7,00,094. Two COVID-19 death were reported in the last 24 hours in the state. On Tuesday, the state had reported only 1,920 cases. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 18,339.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,275) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (234), Rangareddy (201), and Sangareddy (67).

A total of 474 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,77,708 constituting a recovery rate of 96.80%.

As many as 90,021 samples were tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 11,217 swab samples are awaited. A total of 3,03,67,759 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A total of 2,46,449 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Wednesday. Around 73,916 were first dose and 1,40,637 were second dose.

Out of the total 56,038 hospital beds in Telangana, 1,673 are occupied by COVID-19 patients.
