COVID-19: Telangana reports 2,398 new cases, GHMC adds 1,233

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 2,398 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, pushing the cumulative caseload to 7,05,199. Three COVID-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in the state.

On Thursday, the state had reported 2,707 cases. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 21,676.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1233) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (191), Rangareddy (192), and Sangareddy (75).

A total of 1,181 people recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,79,471 constituting a recovery rate of 96.35%.

As many as 68,525 samples were tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 10,118 swab samples are awaited. A total of 3,05,20,564 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A total of 78,887 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Friday. Around 20,102 were the first dose, 52,355 were the second dose, and 6,430 were booster dose.
