COVID-19: TS reports 19.2% single-day increase in cases; Hyderabad records highest
On 11 January, out of 33 districts, nine had reported cases in single digits. But on 19 January, no states had a single-digit number of cases.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 24,253 while the total number of cases reported so far stands at 7,18,196.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,474) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (321), Rangareddy (275), Hanumakonda (130), and Sangareddy (123). Khammam also crossed 100 and recorded 104 cases today.
There is a growing concern as rural districts have started to see a rise in COVID-19 cases. On 11 January, out of 33 districts, nine had reported cases in single digits. But on 19 January, no states had a single-digit number of cases.
A total of 1,773 people recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,89,878 constituting a recovery rate of 96.06%.
1,11,178 samples were tested during the past 24 hours. The results of 11,949 swab samples are awaited. The test positivity rate as of now stands at 3.19%. A total of 3,09,28,740 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
A total of 2,71,165 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Wednesday. Around 66,935 were the first dose, 1,91,440 were the second dose, and 12,790 were the booster dose.
