COVID-19: TS reports 4,393 new cases, TPR at 3.7%
Two people died due to COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 31,199.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 Jan 2022 3:12 PM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 4,393 new COVID-19 cases on January 22, Saturday. This is 0.5% less than the number of cases recorded on 21 January i.e;4416 cases.
Two people died due to COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 31,199. Telangana has so far reported a total of 7,31,212 cases.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,643) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (421), Rangareddy (286), Hanumakonda (184), Khammam (128), and Sangareddy (89). The other districts in the state reported cases in double digits.
A total of 2,319 people recovered from the virus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,95,942 constituting a recovery rate of 95.18%.
Also, 1,16,224 samples were tested during the past 24 hours. The results of 9,537 swab samples are awaited. The test positivity rate as of now stands at 3.7%. A total of 3,12,85,422 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
A total of 2,61,640 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Saturday. Around 57,909 were the first dose, 1,92,153 were the second dose, and 11,578 were the booster dose.
