COVID-19: TS reports 4,416 new cases, 2 deaths

The test positivity rate as of now stands at 3.6%. A total of 3,11,69,198 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

COVID-19: TS reports 4,416 new cases, 2 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 4,416 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on 21 January. This is 5% more than the number of cases recorded on 20 January.

On Thursday, the state had reported 4,207 cases.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 29,127. Telangana has so far reported a total of 7,26,819 cases.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,670) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (417), Rangareddy (301), Hanumakonda (178), Khammam (117), and Sangareddy (99). The other districts in the state reported cases in double digits.

A total of 1,920 people recovered from the virus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,93,623 constituting a recovery rate of 95.43%.

Also, 1,20,243 samples were tested during the past 24 hours. The results of 8,597 swab samples are awaited. The test positivity rate as of now stands at 3.6%. A total of 3,11,69,198 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A total of 2,38,681 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Friday. Around 54,806 were the first dose, 173,174 were the second dose, and 10,701 were the booster dose.
