Don’t revive GO for new draft master plan for Kamareddy: HC to TS govt
The CJ Bench heard the plea filed by evangelist K.A. Paul seeking to set aside the GO.

On Monday, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji directed the state government not to revive GO 199, dated 1 November 2022, through which the BRS government had come up with the new master plan for Kamareddy district. The plan had been opposed and criticised by farmers and the general public.
The CJ Bench heard the plea filed by evangelist K.A. Paul seeking to set aside the GO.
GP for revenue P. Nageswar Rao informed the court that the director of town planning, Kamareddy district has issued a memo dated 30 January 2023 through which the new draft master plan for Kamareddy district has been kept in abeyance till further orders.
Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, after hearing the contentions of the state, asked why the draft master plan had been kept in abeyance when the state could have withdrawn it. The Chief Justice Bench directed the BRS government not to revive the GO without leave of the court.
Dr. K.A. Paul, evangelist and president of Praja Shanti Party, who appeared as party-in-person argued before the Chief Justice court.
Earlier, the court had directed the state to take a decision on the resolution passed by the council of Kamareddy municipality in withdrawing its resolution for the Kamareddy master plan and furnish a copy of the decision to the court.
For further hearing, the matter was adjourned to 17 April.
