Election to appoint new TS Legislative Council chairman on 14 March
Nominations can be submitted in person either by the proposer or the candidate nominated. The nomination form for the election of the chairman will be available on the table of the secretary.

Hyderabad: The election to appoint the chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council will be conducted on 14 March at 11 a.m.
A notification was issued by Assembly secretary V. Narasimha Charyulu. "For immediate reference, I am to enclose an extract of Rule 9 of the Telangana Legislative Council Rules pertaining to the election of the chairman," the notification read.
Under sub-rule (2) of the said Rule, nominations papers and declaration for the election of the chairman are to be submitted to the secretary at any time between 10.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on 13 March.

The current Legislative Council chairman is Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri, an All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLC. He took over as the chairman in January last year after V. Bhoopal Reddy's term expired.
