Flood alert in Godavari: Districts in catchment area on vigil
Some watersheds in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Jagtial, and Adilabad have been mentioned as areas of concern.

Some watersheds in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Jagtial, and Adilabad have been mentioned as areas of concern.
The IMD also warned of flash floods till 5:30 a.m on 11 July. "Due to occurrence of extremely heavy rainfall in Telangana, expecting moderate to high risk in few watersheds in Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu in the next 24 hours," read the flash flood guidelines.

Independent weather observer T. Balaji tweeted on Sunday, "Due to 300mm heavy rainfall, rapid rise in water levels started in the Godavari river. As of now Kaleshwaram project is getting 7 Lakh cusec inflow and even today there will be very heavy rains, easily 10 lakh cusecs possible in coming days, stay alert. Godavari and its tributaries catchment areas of Nirmal, Jagtial, Mancherial, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Peddapalli, Karimnagar need to be highly vigil for the next four days."
Meanwhile, the Central Water Commission, Lower Godavari Division, on Sunday issued an advisory forecast to the district administration of Bhadrachalam Kothagudem regarding the rise in water level in Bhadrachalam by Sunday night.
"Due to continuous rains in the upstream and the release of Sripada Yellampalli project and Laxmi Barrage, the water level at Bhadrachalam may reach the first warning level of 43 feet by Sunday night," read the advisory forecast. CWC Lower Godavari Division also added that the actual forecast will be issued after reaching the warning level.
CWC also shared a graph on the water level in Perur in the Godavari river in Mulugu on Sunday where the water level is almost near the danger level of 80 metres.
Meanwhile, IMD Hyderabad has said that heavy rainfall is likely to occur in all districts of Telangana in the next three hours.
