Former MP Solipeta Ramachandra Reddy passes away at 92

A 92-year-old Ramachandra Reddy had been battling age-related health issues for some time.
Born in Chittapur village in Dubbaka Mandal of Siddipet District, Ramachandra Reddy played a significant role in the Telangana Armed Struggle. Following his graduation from City College, Hyderabad, he dedicated himself to a career in politics.
His journey began as a Sarpanch in Chittapur and progressed to various leadership positions, including President of Dubbaka Samithi, Chairman of Siddipet Agricultural Market Committee, President of the Medak District Central Cooperative Bank, and MLA of Dommata. Ramachandra Reddy also served as the State Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party and held the esteemed position of TDP Parliamentary Party Rajya Sabha Floor Leader.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Solipeta Ramachandra Reddy and extended his condolences to the grieving family. "Ramachandra Reddy's remarkable journey from being a first-generation Communist leader actively involved in the Telangana Armed Struggle to becoming a respected political figure has left a strong impact on the people of Siddipet and Telangana," said KCR.
The Chief Minister regarded Ramachandra Reddy's rise in politics, starting from the grassroots level as a Sarpanch to ultimately becoming an influential member of the Rajya Sabha, as an inspiration for aspiring leaders and future generations.
Solipeta Ramachandra Reddy is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
The MLA Quarters in Banjara Hills has been designated as the venue for people to pay their final respects to the departed leader. The funeral rites will be conducted later today at Maha Prasthanam in Film Nagar, where family, friends, and well-wishers will bid their last farewell to a distinguished political stalwart.
