Four suspended after stray dogs attack deceased in Jadcherla Govt Hospital

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, stray dogs allegedly entered the mortuary of the Government Area Hospital in Jadcherla and mutilated the body of a deceased person.
The lapse occurred after the mortuary was reportedly left unsecured.

Won’t tolerate negligence, says govt
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha took the matter seriously and ordered an immediate investigation. Following the Minister’s directions, the Commissioner of the Medical Services Council, Vaidya Vidhana Parishad, Dr Ajay Kumar, visited the hospital on Monday morning and inspected the place.
In an official statement released by the Health Minister on X, the minister stated that such negligence in government hospitals is not tolerated.
“Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha expressed his anger over the incident that occurred at the Jadcherla Area Hospital. Following the Minister’s orders, the Medical Services Council Commissioner, Dr Ajay Kumar, visited the Jadcherla Hospital on Monday morning and conducted an inquiry,” read the statement.
Suspended officials include Hospital Superintendent
The statement further added, “Details were collected from the deceased’s family members, police, eyewitnesses, doctors and hospital staff. For being negligent in their duties and responsible for the incident, Hospital Superintendent Dr Chandrakala, Duty RMO Dr Harinath, Duty Medical Officer Muneesha and mortuary supporting staff (MNO) Raviprakash have been suspended.”
Commissioner Ajay Kumar stated that the statements from all stakeholders, including the family of the deceased and hospital staff, were recorded to fix accountability. He further emphasised that strict action will be taken to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.
