HC suspends GO converting VRA positions into junior assistants, office subordinates

Hyderabad: On Thursday, the Telangana High Court suspended GO 81 which gave directions to convert village revenue assistant (VRA) posts into junior assistants and office subordinates in other departments.
A Single Bench of Justice P Madhavi Devi suspended the GO 81 issued on July 24, 2023, and ordered the state government to maintain a status quo in this issue.
The VRAs, who filed the petition, further sought a direction to the state government to continue them in the revenue department as junior assistants, record assistants, and office subordinates based on their qualifications.
A batch of three writ petitions were filed in the HC. The first WP was by Shadab Hakim, tahsildar, Office of Collector, Jagtial District, the second one was by Guddolla Bhumanna, VRO and five others from Nizamabad and the third WP was filed by Kurisenga Adithya, and 29 other office subordinates, working in the office of RDO, Rajanna Sircilla.
