Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Tuesday decided to provide Rs. 50,000 ex-gratia to the kin of those who died of COVID-19 in the state as per the guidelines issued by the Central government.
To avail of this facility, people have to first apply for the official document for COVID-19 death (ODCD) and the ex-gratia will be made available to them through the online portal Meeseva.
More than 4,500 Meeseva centres are available across the state, making access convenient to people. People can apply through Meeseva centres and ODCD will be issued online and ex-gratia transferred directly to their accounts.
People have to fill out an application form, provide the necessary details like bank account details and upload the relevant documents. The details are available at all Meeseva centres.
ODCD will be issued by the COVID Death Ascertaining Committee (CDAC) consisting of district collector (chairman), district medical and health officer (member, convener), and superintendent of district headquarter hospital (member).
Once the CDAC issues the ODCD, ex-gratia amount will be transferred to the bank account of the next of kin of the deceased.
Grievances, if any, can be made through Meeseva centres and the committee will examine them.
