Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy today said Hyderabad is rapidly emerging as the Global Life Sciences capital.
Inaugurating the BioAsia 2026 Summit, CM Revanth said Hyderabad is not just a 'vaccine capital of the world' but a new hub for Global Life Sciences.
With more than 4000 delegates from 500 leading global organizations, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the city's meteoric rise from a hub known for "charminar and biryani" to a sophisticated global epicenter for research, design, and manufacturing.
$3 Trillion Economy
CM Revanth Reddy outlined a bold roadmap for the state’s future under the "Telangana Rising 2047" vision. The state aims to achieve $1 Trillion Economy by 2034 and $3 Trillion Economy by 2047.
"We are not just competing within India; we are competing with the top global clusters in the world," the CM stated, emphasizing that the Life Sciences sector is the engine driving this growth.
Life Science investments
The Chief Minister revealed that the Life Sciences sector in Telangana has attracted over ₹73,000 crore in investments in the last two years alone. He credited this success to a combination of visionary leadership, transparent policies, and a highly skilled workforce.
Key initiatives highlighted in his speech included:
New Life Sciences Policy: Recently unveiled at Davos to streamline growth.
Genome Valley Expansion: Scaling up India's first organized cluster for Life Sciences R&D.
"One-Bio": A new initiative launched to foster world-class research and innovation.
Green Pharma City: Accelerating the development of an eco-friendly pharmaceutical hub.
The "Bio-World" Evolution
The CM noted that BioAsia has outgrown its name. "BioAsia is becoming Bio-World," he said, comparing its international prestige to the World Economic Forum in Davos. He urged global corporations, startups, and researchers to view Hyderabad as the ultimate answer to their needs for stability and innovation. "Whether it is Bulk Drugs or Biologics, manufacturing or innovation, Telangana is leading the way from India to the world," he said.
A Call to Global Investors
The Chief Minister extended an open invitation to global firms to establish their Global Capability Centers (GCCs) and innovation hubs in the state. He encouraged leaders to design molecules, drive clinical analytics, and develop AI platforms within the Telangana ecosystem.
"Telangana means business," Reddy concluded. "Our government, our scientists, and our skilled youth are your partners in success. Together, let us make Hyderabad the Life Sciences capital of the world."
State Minister for Industries, Commerce, and IT, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, was also present, highlighting the government’s collective push to position Telangana as a premier global investment destination. Minister Sridhar Babu discussed the new Life Sciences Policy and the expansion of Genome Valley, assuring investors of a stable, transparent, and proactive governance model. The three-day session will have discussions on AI, innovation, and clinical research in life sciences.
