`i-Tims: TSRTC set to introduce Android based ticket issuing machines for passengers convenience

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation will soon introduce Android based ticket issuing machines for the convenience of passengers.

TSRTC's i-Tims (Intelligent Ticket Issue Machine) approach is being made available to make it more convenient for passengers during transit.

The move is expected to allow passengers to book tickets 15 minutes before the departure of buses from each bus station. Currently, online bookings and reservations on long-distance services are being discontinued an hour earlier.

TSRTC said that this approach not only saves passenger time but also helps in knowing in advance how many seats are vacant on the bus. At present passengers have to pay cash on buses to get tickets. Now, passengers can make UPI or credit/debit card payments on the bus due to iTims usage.

TSRTC also planning to roll out smart cards soon after introducing a new system in a bid to provide better facilities to travelers.
