Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a house site and Rs 1 crore for Dhol player Sakini Ramachandraiah who was conferred with Padma Shri.
Sakini Ramachandraiah was awarded Padma Shri for his efforts to preserve the tribal folklore, Kanchumelam-Kanchutalam.
KCR met Sakini Ramachandraiah at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday and appreciated him for his efforts in preserving and promoting the Adivasi art form. Padma Shri award to Sakini Ramachandraiah was announced in recognition of his efforts, he said.
He asked Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao to coordinate with Ramachandraiah and make necessary arrangements for identification of the house site as well as oversee the construction of the house.
The Chief Minister also announced a house site and Rs 1 crore for Padma Shri awardee and Gussadi artisan Kanakaraju at his native constituency. Padma Shri was announced for Kanakarju last year.
