Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a house site and Rs one crore cash for Padma Shri awardee Darshanam Moghilaiah. Darshanam Moghilaiah, the Kinnera instrument player was awarded Padma Shri recently. He met KCR at Pragathi Bhavan here on Friday. The CM felicitated Moghilaiah with a shawl.
He said Moghilaiah should be lauded for protecting and preserving one of the great folk music forms. On this occasion, the CM announced the allotment of a house site in Hyderabad and Rs one crore for the construction and other expenses. He instructed MLA Guvvala Balraju to coordinate the work.
The CM said the state government has already recognized Moghilaiah's art and is paying him an honorarium. The CM reiterated that the state would take care of the artists who are reviving the Telangana culture. On this occasion, Ministers Srinivas Goud, Malla Reddy, MLA A Venkateswar Reddy, and others participated.
