Hyderabad: The stage is set for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) first public meeting after the formation of the party. The meeting will be held on 18 January in Khammam. The party leaders have been organising meetings and preparatory programmes for a week to gather around 5 lakh people for the meeting. Arrangements have been completed for the huge public meeting on 100 acres behind the newly-constructed collectorate in Khammam. The leaders are expecting a large number of activists from Mahabubabad, Suryapet, and other constituencies, including 10 Assembly constituencies of Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and CPI national general secretary Raja are going to attend the formation meeting of Bharat Rashtra Samithi in Khammam on Wednesday. All of them will reach Hyderabad by Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, the Chief Ministers will have breakfast with KCR at Pragati Bhavan. After that, two helicopters will depart from Begumpet airport for Yadadri. According to the programme, the Chief Ministers and other party leaders will visit Lakshminarasimhaswamy and leave for Khammam.
The open meeting of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi will be held from 2 p.m to 4.30 p.m. While the public meeting is being held on 100 acres, the leaders have made arrangements for parking on 480 acres. As 5 lakh people are expected to attend the meeting, 50 LED screens are being set up.
Both sides of the roads are filled with huge cut-outs and hoardings. The meeting is significant as it is being held in Khammam which is on the border of AP, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha states. The BRS party leaders believe that it will increase in importance at the national level.
