Mission Nizamabad: Kavitha reminds people of KCRs welfare schemes

Nizamabad: BRS MLC and Telangana CM's daughter K. Kavitha on Thursday said KCR's Kalyana Lakshmi & Shaadi Mubarak scheme has brought down the incidence of child marriages in Telangana.

The scheme was introduced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the well-being of the women of Telangana. "He always introduces schemes with a vision," said Kavitha during a program held in Nizamabad.

Kavitha explained how KCR implemented the Shaadi Mubarak scheme. "At the time of the formation of Telangana, KCR visited a village in Warangal and found a man who had lost his house (burnt) and the money he had saved for his daughter's wedding. He needed Rs. 50,000 for her wedding. KCR managed to gather money and give it to him. Then he decided to offer money to every daughter of Telangana for their wedding through this scheme. From Rs. 50,000, the gift money has been increased to Rs. 1 lakh," she said.

Kavitha said no other state in India has such an offer for newlyweds and the ideology of TRS will now spread with BRS throughout the nation.

Addressing the people of Nizamabad, Kavitha said soon, the people of Nizamabad will have a function hall with a budget of Rs. 100 crores, a new bus stand for the transportation of medical students, and a maternity hospital. Later, she distributed Kalyana Lakshmi & Shaadi Mubarak cheques.

Target Nizamabad

Kavitha, in her speech, asked the opposition BJP leaders not to overreact by conducting protests and instead observe what the BRS party is doing for the development of Nizamabad.

A day before, BJP leaders took out a rally demanding the protection of government lands in Nizamabad urban Assembly constituency limits. They alleged that the state government was planning to transfer valuable lands of the old collectorate, district education office, and tahsildar office to private persons.

It may be recalled that Kavitha lost the Lok Sabha elections to Arvind Dharmapuri with a margin of 70,875 votes from Nizamabad. Now, the ruling BRS party is preparing the ground to reclaim the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat lost to BJP in 2019. Kavitha, during her speech in Nizamabad on Thursday, focuses on the development of the Nizamabad constituency.
