More hostels, better amenities for girls: TS Guv interacts with state academics

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, on 24 November, interacted with academics from different universities of the state at the Raj Bhavan here. She urged them to work towards setting high standards of quality in higher education with a special emphasis on the all-round development of the students.

She asked them to believe in the core potential of every student, to be responsible academicians, and to create better facilities to enable women scholars to pursue research.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also called for the preparation of a comprehensive health profile of each student so as to ensure their better health. She emphasised the need for more hostels for girls in colleges and universities as the enrollment of girls in higher educational institutions is witnessing a phenomenal rise.

Creating better amenities for women teachers and girl students is vital in reducing the dropout rate in educational institutions, she said. Dr. Soundarajan also underlined the need to improve the employability skills of students by giving a special focus on soft skills and life skills.
