The plea is likely to be heard by the HC on October 13.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Telangana, represented by its General Secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy, on Tuesday filed a Lunch Motion Petition in the High Court alleging that bogus voters are being enrolled for the upcoming Munugode by-poll.
The petitioner claimed that a total of 24,781 applications under Form 6 (New Voters) had been received for processing in just 2 months and 10 days while only 1,474 applications from Munugodu and Chandur Mandal were received in 7 months prior to August 2022. They included all of the Forms.
Premender Reddy alleged that the ruling party is misusing its position to pressure the officials into accepting and processing potentially bogus voters and passing them as Munugode Assembly Constituency voters in order to manipulate coming by-election. He sought directions to freeze the voters' list prepared up to July 31, 2022. the by-poll is scheduled to be held on November 3, 2022.
